It is a great pleasure and honor for the University of Oulu to invite you to join the 13th International Conference on Productivity and Quality Research (ICPQR 2008), to be held in Oulu, Finland, on 25th – 27th June, 2008. We are proud that the International Society for Productivity and Quality Research (ISPQR) gave us the opportunity to arrange such an important event for academia and practitioners in the field of productivity and quality research.
The ICPQR 2008 Conference is targeted for professionals on productivity and quality research and development, both in academia and industry. The programme offers keynote lectures, research reports, and practical applications of productivity and quality in knowledge-based organizations. Dr Jaakko Kujala, Professor, Conference Chair Jaakko is a professor of Project and Quality Management at the University of Oulu and adjunct professor at Helsinki University of Technology. He has over ten year international work experience in automation system business before joining the academia. His previous research has been in the areas of quality management, project business and healthcare management. His current research interests include project sales and marketing process, global project networks and project stakeholder management, business models for project-based organizations, and productivity and quality of healthcare services. Jaakko likes golfing, fishing, and family life. Dr Päivi Iskanius, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Conference Coordinator Päivi is a researcher in Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Oulu. Her academic background if M.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) in 1988; eMBA (executive MBA programme) in 2002; Lic.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) in 2004, and PhD (Science of Technology) in 2006. Her research interest is SCM and e-business applications in the communication and collaboration of business networks. She has written about 60 publications in the forms of journal papers, book contribution, refereed conference articles and technical papers. Päivi likes boating in Saimaa lake area.
