ISPQR

ISPQR the organization  ISPQR (International Society for Productivity and Quality Research) is a premier international society dedicated to the creation and dissemination of new, relevant and advanced knowledge in productivity and quality research and closely related disciplines of all interested productivity and quality researchers worldwide.

ISPQR has several important strategic goals:

  • Encourage members to continuously conduct productivity and quality research and to disseminate the new knowledge regularly.
  • Offer the international annual conferences (ICPQRs) on productivity and quality research.
  • Offer workshops on productivity and quality research.
  • Publish the International Journal of Productivity and Quality Research (IJPQR).
  • Provide a forum for collaboration and interaction of members, and form a network of researchers and practitioners worldwide.
  • Publish a newsletter periodically for ISPQR members.
  • Offer productivity and quality research clearinghouse service to members.
  • Represent the interests of ISPQR and its members at the international, national, and regional levels.
  • Promote the growth of ISPQR through innovative efforts and linkages to academic, business, and government communities.Support and encourage efforts of young and emerging scholars to pursue productivity and quality research. 

David

The President of ISPQR today is Prof. David J Sumanth, University of Miami. He also founded the ISPQR in 1993, and serves as Chairman of its Board. He chaired the first five International Conferences on Productivity and Quality Reserach (ICPQR conferences) from 1987 to 1995.

Prof. Sumanth will give a keynote speech in the ICPQR 2008 conference, 2008 on the theme: "Total Productive Societies (TPS) for 21st Century".   

ISPQR is sponsoring the International Conference on Productivity and Quality Research – ICPQR, which is dedicated to the advancement of research in productivity, quality and closely related disciplines. International conferences have been held since 1987, and the last one, the 12th ICPQR, was held in July 2007 in Haifa, Israel. These conferences feature a wide variety of theoretical and practical research papers with authors from more than thirty countries.

The 13th ICPQR Conference will be held in Oulu, Finland. The objective for the ICPQR 2008 Conference is to discuss the applicability of traditional approaches in the new environment and identify new approaches that can be used to improve productivity and quality in knowledge-intensive organizations, which are engaged in complex and non-routine processes that are difficult to manage with traditional approaches.
